Most pediatric OT happens in a clinic, in a 30 minute slot, with a parent in the waiting room. But many of the challenges children face don't happen in a clinic, they happen at home, during daily routines and real-life moments.
That's where I come in.
I'm Dr. Megan Matthews, a pediatric occupational therapist and Certified Autism Specialist with a passion for supporting neurodivergent children's ability to participate in everyday life. By providing therapy in your home or through telehealth, I can see what life actually looks like for your family and help create strategies that work in your child's daily routines.
Treatment sessions are highly personalized to meet your family's exact needs. Sessions can include:
- Spending dedicated one-on-one occupationally therapeutic time with your child to understand what's working, what's challenging, and what support they need to succeed.
- Bringing you into the therapeutic process in real-time so that you can see exactly what I'm doing when I'm with your child, why I'm doing it, and you can practice building skills with your child while I'm there to assist, give feedback, and answer your questions - so that you can confidently carry those strategies into everyday life.
- Dedicating quality one-on-one educational time between me and you (and other caregivers, family members, or peers as needed) to increase your understanding and confidence in using strategies to support your child... so that you feel like you have the skills to be PROACTIVE instead of REACTIVE (isn't that the best feeling?!)
You'll leave each session with practical tools, hands-on guidance, and a clear understanding of how to support your child's progress between visits, so meaningful change continues long after the session ends.
